“OCEF Rummage Sale”

As all of you may know this is the time of year when OCEF starts to advertise our annual Rummage Sale to benefit the Ortonville Community Emergency Fund. It is with heavy hearts that the OCEF Board of Directors have made the tough decision not to have the Rummage Sale this year. Due to the longevity of this sale and the growth of the sale, we feel this year we do not have enough volunteers to support the sale. We have had several wonderful chair-persons for this sale, but due to their lengthy dedication to this sale, they now have other family and community commitments which have enabled them to help this year.

In order to re-group and hopefully prepare for next year, sadly there will not be a sale this year, but we remain hopeful for next year. If anyone from one of our area churches or in our community would like to volunteer to chair this event for next year, please contact; Margaret Lee at St. Anne Church, (248) 627-3965 ext. 102. This sale has always been a vital event which has brought many needed funds to help us keep the pantry stocked with food for our approximately 180 active families. Without this sale, OCEF will be looking for alternative ways of making up the financial deficit canceling this sale will bring to the organization.

In closing, the OCEF Board of Directors would like to give a heartfelt than you to; Sue Roberts, Suzy Fluck, Sue Kelty, Carol Klenner and Beth Rossman, and the hundreds of volunteers who have participated in this event. We wish to thank everyone who has supported this sale through their kind donations of items to sell and their time. We especially would like to thank St. Anne Church for allowing OCEF to use their facility to host this sale each year.

Please call the number above if you would like to chair this event next year.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

The OCEF Board of Directors and

Karyn Milligan, Pantry Director
