Atlas Twp

.- A 21-year-old Brandon Township man died in a 2-vehicle crash Tuesday on M-15.

Genesee County Undersheriff Chris Swanson said Alexander Kozloff was northbound on M-15 shortly before 7 a.m., Jan. 31, when it appears he lost control of his Buick sedan in icy conditions and slid sideways into the southbound lane where he was struck by a small sport utility vehicle driven by a 46-year-old Davison woman.

Kozloff, who was on his way to work in Flint, was killed on impact. The driver of the SUV was transported to Genesys Regional Medical Center where she was listed in serious, but stable condition.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and Swanson said neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be factors in the accident. The road was shut down for an hour.

“It is very, very important that you maintain safety and caution in all icy and snowy conditions, even if you think you’re in control,” said Swanson. “We want to get through winter conditions. I don’t like any tragedy to be lost in the memory and not be used for the good, someway, somehow. This is an opportunity to talk with your family and remind them how serious driving is.”
