Brandon Twp.-The school board is still reviewing proposals for the properties that they have for sale, and they heard another presentation for the future of the Brandon Fletcher building.
During the Brandon Board of Education meeting on Monday night, Curt Demoff, one of the lead pastors for Bridgewood Church, 6765 Rattalee Lake Road, Clarkston, proposed an idea for the building to become a new site for the church.
“What we would intend on doing would be to relocate Bridgewood Church into the current building and make modifications,” said Demoff. “And then as well as add a potential daycare option.”
Demoff wants to host a daycare for young children who are not yet in preschool, as well as add on an additional area for a sports complex that would benefit the community and give students a place to be active, especially in the colder months. Demoff believed that this idea would be an asset to the village. He also said he would like to add more parking and a driveway off of M-15.
There are currently four prospective buyers that are being considered by the school board, and Matt Outlaw, Brandon superintendent suggested a special meeting in the near future to lay out all of the proposals.
Brandon Fletcher has been vacant since the ending of the last school year and is one of three properties that the school district has for sale, including Belle Ann elementary and a 2.3 acre plot of land on Sherman Court.
