Good Times in Goodrich Aug. 4

The good times in Goodrich.
On Aug. 4 Good Times in Goodrich kicks off with a day of cars, food and activities for the whole family.
“We welcome the community out to Goodrich on Saturday to check out some great new events,” said Lianne Zarycky, director of advertising. “Good Times in Goodrich is a collaboration of individuals working together to bring a fun festival locally for all to enjoy.

The proceeds from Good Times in Goodrich all come our goal is to give back to the community through a variety of charities.”
From 8-10 a.m., start the Good Times off with a pancake breakfast in Goodrich Commons area. From 10 a.m.-noon Carl Coffey – US 103.1 Classic Rock Radio will provide the music.
From 10 a.m.-3 p.m., the sixth annual Cruise to Goodrich Car Show opens featuring the Michigan Military Vehicle Collectors Club. At 10:30 a.m. the Good Times parade begins and will travel east on Hegel Road toward M-15. From 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. there will be a selection of music and dance demonstrations in the Commons area. From 10 a.m.-5 p.m. the Kid Zone is open featuring the annual pie-eating contest at 1:30 p.m. sponsored by North Star Home Group.
From 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. new this year is the Good Times Quilt Show also in the Goodrich Commons area. Local authors will sign books during the day.
At 3 p.m. sign up for the team Corn Hole Tournament. The event begins at 3:30 p.m. cash prizes.
From noon to midnight the Martian Gardens beer tent will be open featuring live music from 3 p.m.-midnight. Village based-Cranberries Cafe will provide food during the evening in the beer tent.
“Several local bands along with area vocalists will perform during the day,” she said. “Including Rachelle Ray and the Banned, “The Driven,” and “Natural Chemistry.” Also, local singers American Idol contestant Genavieve Linkowski, Devin Mitchell and Sammi Dillion will entertain.”
A variety of food vendors featuring barbecue, burgers, hot dogs, tacos, corn, ice cream and shaved ice will be available in the Commons area.
From 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. the Goodrich Soccer Club will host a 3V3 cup GSC soccer competition at the Common area behind Reid Elementary School. Registration forms are on goodrichfestival.com. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Rose Alexander of Devoted Friends & Animal Society and winner of the 2017 shelter of the year award will bring dogs, cats, bunnies, reptiles, and chinchillas for adoption.
