Groveland Twp.-From 5:30-7 p.m., March 27, the township board of trustees will host a public meeting to seek input in the year long update process of the master plan. The meeting will be at the township hall.
The township master plan is a policy document that provides direction for future development. The first meeting on the township master plan was last May. Since that time township planners have been compiling information gathered during the past year.
“It’s been several years since the master plan was last updated,” said Bob DePalma, township supervisor. “The township planners now have some placards for residents to take a look at and provide input.”
Key in the discussions are township areas along Dixie Highway and M-15, DePalma said.
“This meeting, like others we have, is a chance for residents along with business owners to discuss ideas and visions for the township,” he said. “The new plans also include input from the DNR, Oakland County and the Holly Recreation areas who were part of the meetings over the past year too.”
A possible new township project will be the replacement of the Michigan State Police detachment and township fire station #1 located at 14645 Dixie Highway.
“One consideration is to sell the property on Dixie Highway to cover the cost of the new facility,” added DePalma.
