Election results: Onica tops Jones in Atlas Township, Thurman wins, Clean water millage dumped by Brandon Voters

Atlas Township Clerk wins the Republican nomination for the November election with 651 votes, or 50 percent, defeating incumbent two term supervisor Shirley Kautman-Jones who tallied 587 votes or 45 percent.  Trustees Patrick Major and Barry June also win GOP nomination this fall.

The Brandon School District millage proposal fails, with 1,778 no votes, or 60.77 percent, to 1,148 yes votes, or 39.23 percent. The Goodrich School District millage proposal wins, with 1,513 yes or  69 percent to 683 no votes or 31 percent.
Kathy Thurman wins the Republican nomination for Brandon Township Supervisor with 1,238 votes, or 58.40%, defeating Jayson Rumball, who received 881 votes, or 41.56%.

In the race for the Republican nomination for treasurer, Terri Darnall won with 1,245 votes, or 63.62%, to 711 votes, or 36.33% for Susan Hollingshead.

Without Democratic challengers, Thurman will be the sole candidate for supervisor and Darnall the sole candidate for treasurer on the November ballot, essentially sealing their reelection to their respective offices tonight.
