PUBLIC NOTICE

ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT

Notice is hereby given that the Village of Goodrich Village Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, October 10, 2016, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Administrative Building, lower level, 7338 S. State Road, Goodrich, Michigan. The public hearing is for the purpose of considering the following zoning text amendment as proposed by the Village Administrator to permit tattoo parlors within the GBD (General Business District) zone, contingent upon the following:

Section 36-362, General Business District, Permitted Uses:

a. Location: The parcel on which a tattoo parlor is located shall not abut any LDR (Low Density Residential) or VCR (Village Center Residential) zone district.

b. Exterior appearance: Exterior building colors shall be reviewed and approved by the Community Development Department. Neon shall not be permitted on any part of the building or property not integral to any permitted sign.

c. Hours of Operation: Conduct of business shall not occur between the hours of 9 p.m. and 9 a.m.

d. Maximum Size: Maximum size of the tenant space shall not exceed 3,000 square feet in gross floor area.

Section 36-784, Parking Requirements:

Barber shop/beauty salon/tattoo parlor: 2.5 spaces per each barber or chair/station

The ordinance amendment will also disallow tattoo parlors as a conditional use in the Industrial zone district, as is currently written. As such, the listing of tattoo parlors as an adult regulated use in Section 36-497 will be deleted.

All parties in interest and citizens, either in support of or in opposition to the proposed amendment, shall have the opportunity to be heard at said time and place. A copy of the proposed amendment is available for review at the Administrative Building during regular business hours, as noted on the website at http://www.villageofgoodrich.com.
