Public to get first look at bond project at high school open house

After passing a $73 million bond extension in 2005, the Brandon School District began construction and renovations to every building in the district. The projects include the upgraded performing arts center, the new cafeteria, auxiliary gymnasium, additional classrooms and the athletics complex. The projects are slated to open for the first day of school on Sept. 8. To showcase the accomplishments, an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil all of the new and renovated facilities at Brandon High School will be held at 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Tours will be offered of all the new projects. The open house will run from 2 until 4 p.m. on Aug. 17 and will include refreshments.
