Robert E. “Bob” Pettet of Ortonville; passed away August 8, 2016. He was 77.  Born March 19, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Bob moved to Michigan in 1969 to begin his career with DuPont as a Training Coordinator.  During his career he also proudly worked with the Collision Repair Technology program with the V.I.C.A. (Vocational Industrial Club of America) Skills USA Championships.  Following his retirement in 1997, Bob became an avid golfer and was a very involved member of Goodrich Country Club serving as a Past President and their current Vice President.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  Bob is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ethel; three children, Suzanne Gregory, Robert Pettet and Sandra (Keith) Crampton; seven grandchildren, Amber (Brad) Trickey, Abby Crampton, Ashley (Don) Newman, Joe (Courtney) Tomas, Nick Gregory, Daniel (Brianna) Pettet and Carolynne Pettet; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly (Glenn) Ziegler and Patricia Edwards both of Ohio; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his grandson Fredrick Thomas “Woody”.  Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at VILLAGE FUNERAL HOME-ORTONVILLE 135 South Street, Ortonville.  Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Bob Pettet Building Memorial Fund at Goodrich Country Club.  Bob’s vision was to build a pavilion/deck at the club house.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
