Township library reopens

Brandon Twp

.- After a three-week closure, the library has reopened!

The library closed Jan. 25 as Brown Drilling of Howell made necessary repairs to the well located under the parking lot at 304 South St.

After repeated well breaks in the past three years, the library board approved a contract with Brown to replace the facility’s well pump, tank, and line at a cost not to exceed $30,000.

After delays, the library reopened Feb. 16 and was expected to resume programming immediately. No late fees will be assessed on books that were due back during the closed period.

“The Brandon Library staff and board of trustees would like to thank our wonderful patrons for their support and patience during this closure,” said Director Rebecca Higgerson. “We clearly understand how important we are to each other in this tight-knit community.”
