Groveland Twp.-The condition of a mile stretch of Tripp road between Dixie Highway and Grange Hall Road in Groveland Township has been often deemed deplorable by some motorists.
“Water runs over Tripp Road in the spring through a low area the road is actually sinking,” said Bob DePalma, township supervisor. “The bump sign along the road needs to redesigned to bump, bump, bump.”
Next year that rough ride may be over.
County officials announced last week that $2.3 million has been earmarked to repair the section of roadway. The funding also includes $600,000 to replace a culvert under the road.
From 4-7 p.m., Dec. 6, at township fire station #1, 14645 Dixie Highway, the Road Commission for Oakland County will host a public hearing regarding the project.

“The road has been bad for many years,” added DePalma. “Tripp is not a primary road which makes it more difficult to get funding. However, we are happy the project is moving forward and one of the last bad sections or roads in the township will be fixed.”
