Village manager, DPW director search ramps up

Goodrich-On Monday the village council is expected discuss the next step in the application process for filling two key positions.
At 6 p.m., Monday the village council will meet at 7338 S. State Road.
On Wednesday morning Mark Baldwin, village president, Tim Light, village council member, David Fleet, editor of The Citizen newspaper and Pat Schierup opened nine applications for village manager/clerk and six for village DPW director at the village offices.
“The names of the candidates will remain confidential,” said Baldwin. “Right now we’ll just look at the qualification of the individuals. The positions will remain open until we can fill it.”

In August the village council OK’d the verbiage for the two job openings to be posted.
The village superintendent of public works position was open following the resignation of Ethan Campbell in July. Last month council appointed DPW employee Matt Mayne as the interim superintendent.
The council also moved forward with the job posting for village administrator/clerk last month.
The opening comes after the council voted 3-2 in June to not renew the contract for Jakki Sidge. She will be on the job until November. The posting for both position was published The Citizen newspaper and village Web site. The administrator position will also in the Michigan Municipal League Web site.
