The Lake Orion High School varsity baseball team was almost unbeaten last week, except for dropping the first game of a doubleheader with Novi over the weekend.
On May 17, the team defeated Rochester Adams, 4-3, with Nate Recknagel having a two-run homer and Brian Hewitt a one-run homer.
On May 19, Lake Orion took out Rochester, 3-2, with Josh Hughes the winning pitcher in relief. Mike Ripari had a two-out single at the bottom of the seventh, driving home Joe Wurst for the win.
On May 22, the Dragons rounded out the week against Novi, losing 7-2 in the first game and and winning 8-7 in the second. Hughes had a two-run single to help win the game, as Lake Orion went 19-10 in OAA I.
