The Lake Orion boys track team pulled out a first place finish in the Division I Regional competition, held in Holly on May 21 and completed on May 24 due to rain on Friday.
The team finished with 105, before second-place Grand Blanc with 98. Ryan Lewandowski finished first in the high jump, 6-3 on May 21, when Lake Orion was losing to Grand Blanc by four points. Due to excellent jumpers, said coach Stan Ford, the Dragons were able to pull ahead on Monday.
On May 21, Ryan Allison set a school record in the 110 hurdles (14.1), and the 4×200 relay team set one (Allison, Erik Wallace, Adam Martin and Justin Smith) with a time of 1:29.8. Allison won the long jump for the team.
The girls track team finished fifth in their regional, won by Grand Blanc (109), with 34. Lindsay Gaudard won the 3200 (11:17), while Blaire James took the high jump for the team (5-0).
