To the disappointment of some Hi Hill residents in attendance at the July 6 board meeting, the Orion Township Board of Trustees will wait for an attorney opinion before proceeding with reimbursement of Hi Hill for sewer fees paid to the township.
The township has received requests from Hi Hill residents, as well as several board members, to investigate the matter of repayment for sewer fees residents paid to the township through an SAD. The board had spoken in the past about possibly being able to repay the residents with host fee funds from Eagle Valley.
The township attorney is to investigate the legality of the issue, and give an opinion to the board by the Aug. 16 meeting. A resolution for repayment, if that is decided to be appropriate, should also be brought by the attorney at that time.
