Lacrosse clubs take the field

The Clarkston boys lacrosse team opened their season with a flurry of out of state action, playing three games in less then 24 hours in Ohio.
On March 24, Clarkston lost in overtime to Toledo St. Francis de Sales by a score of 7-6. Clarkson was led by junior midfielder Eric Salo with three goals, senior attackman Brent Fisher who recorded two goals and an assist and senior attackman Josh Halka with a goal and an assist. Senior goalie Steve Johns stopped seven shots in the losing effort.
On the morning of March 25, Clarkston beat Perrysburg 7-5. Senior Brent Fisher led the attack with two goals and four assists. Senior David Isaac scored three goals for the second time this season.
In the final game of the weekend, in the afternoon on March 25, Clarkston lost to Ohio powerhouse Sylvania by a score of 15-2. Sophomore Grant Hoben scored both goals for Clarkston and was assisted on both goals by Salo.
Clarkston’s record stands at 2-2. The Wolves game against Waterford United at home on April 4 finished too late for this edition of The Clarkston News. The boys team plays next at Farmington on April 7 and returns home to face Rochester on April 10 in a game which starts at 8 p.m.
The Clarkston girls lacrosse team’s season gets underway on April 6 at home against Waterford United, followed with a home scrimmage on April 7 against Grand Blanc. Both home games are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The girls team plays at Swartz Creek at 6 p.m. on April 11.
