Waldon hosts spirit week

Special to the Review
The recent Spirit Week at Waldon was a chance to get crazy and show some school spirit.
The week featured theme days such as Pajama Day, Crazy Clothes Day, Green and White Day, even a 100 Things Day. Students who wore 100 things like beads, paperclips, or in some cases, playing cards, really showed their spirit.
Crazy Clothes day was another fun-filled day. Students dressed up in a lot of strange outfits. I wore 7 different layers of clothes! Mismatched shoes, socks and leggings were all present on that day.
Wednesday was Red, White, and Pink day in honor of Valentine’s Day. We all looked like one giant valentine.
During the week, students also collected money for the ‘Pennies for Patients? charity to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Prizes were handed out to the classes with the most school spirit and the ones that raised the most money. You could get a free cookie from the snack line or even leave class three minutes early for lunch.
The week ended with a Movie Star Day and Pep Assembly. We all chose a character to dress up as, and while some hid behind dark sunglasses like celebrities, others played up their characters, and some just stole the red carpet show.
The movie theme was carried through to the Pep Assembly, complete with ‘floats? built on wagons depicting popular movies. Instead of an ‘Oscar,? the top float was awarded a miniature wagon traveling trophy, given to the class with the winning design.
The assembly featured a float parade, the Waldon band playing the LO fight song, a free throw competition, a spirit yell and an introduction of the winter sports teams. What a fun-filled week.
