ONTV offers local holiday shoppers help

As the holidays quickly approach, Orion Neighborhood Television is lending a helping hand to local shoppers.
The public access television center is producing a 30-minute holiday shopping guide, Shop Hopp’n, to assist community members in finding gifts right here in their own backyard.
‘We would like to encourage residents to shop locally,? said ONTV Executive Director Diane Griffiths. ‘Shop Hopp’n is a way to let residents know what’s in our community.?
‘Many people don’t realize what’s available in Lake Orion,? she added, ‘and there’s a great variety of unique, local shops only a short drive away.?
This is the second year ONTV has produced this program highlighting local business establishments, and they’re asking for business owners? help.
According to Griffiths, ONTV is asking any business that is interested in being included in the show to contact them and arrange a time for ONTV cameras to videotape inside their establishment.
Business owners will also be responsible for writing 60 seconds? worth of copy that will be used as a voiceover for their store’s video footage.
Griffiths said inclusion in this program is free of charge and is a great promotional opportunity.
‘We just want to highlight businesses and let residents know what’s available,? she added.
Shop Hopp’n will play in early December on ONTV Channel 10. The program will also be available for viewing on ONTV’s website, www.orionONTV.org.
