The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department took a report of several weapons confiscated from a student’s vehicle at Lake Orion High School on March 25.
According to the report, an LOHS associate principal was given permission by the student to search the vehicle, and found two knives, a paintball gun and paintballs.
The student, an 18-year-old Oakland boy, said he knew about one of the knives but not the other. He said he was not aware that it was against the rules to have the paintball gun in his vehicle at school.
The principal explained that the school was a “weapons free zone” and that he would have to confiscate them. The boy’s parents were notified that he would be suspended for 10 days for having the weapons at school.
