An investigation is continuing in an incident on Algene where a pontoon boat was damaged by fireworks.
The Lake Orion Police Department responded on May 19, 9:30 p.m. to a call from someone complaining that extremely loud and powerful fireworks were being thrown into the lake.
According to the police report, one of the pontoons on the boat was damaged. LO Police Chief Jerry Narsh said the person who threw the fireworks has been identified and is cooperating with police.
Charges may be pending and the person responsible will have to pay to have the boat repaired. No injuries occurred.
‘Be forewarned, police will not overlook illegal fireworks,? Narsh said. ‘Exploding fireworks are against state and local laws.
‘Even in the hands of adults, fireworks can cause damage, injury or even death.?
