Dragon earns over $1 million playing golf

Orion native Tom Gillis may have finished tied for 16th during the BMW Championship (41st overall in the FedEx Cup) but he’s happy with his performance this year.
Indianwood Golf Pro and friend of the player Dave Zink said making $1.2 million on the tournament probably helped.
‘He’s very happy with the way he played and I’m sure he’s happy with the way he finished this year,? said Zink. ‘He would have had to finish in the top five to move on, which he didn’t do, but he had an awfully good year. He could still play in the months of October and November, down in Florida, but he had a great year and in the past, when he did this well, he usually hangs them up.?
Zink said Gillis finished around 80th or 85th in the money list for players. The winner of the FedEx cup, likely to be Rory Mcllroy, gets $10 million.
Gillis is a graduate of Lake Orion High School and a former employee at Indianwood Country Club.
