Nathan Hunter has coached at nearly every level of soccer in his 19 years in the profession.
He is anxious to put his roots in the Brandon community and bring his knowledge to the Brandon High School program.
Hunter, most recently the boys and girls soccer coach at Walled Lake Central High School for eight years, was appointed in May as the new BHS boys soccer coach.
Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at Eastern Michigan University for a year, as well as an assistant coach at Redford Catholic Central for a year. He has also been an assistant at Elon College in North Carolina and the head women’s coach at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
He also served for four years as the Olympic soccer development coach for the U-12 and U-16 divisions, and was head of the North Carolina Indoor Soccer Coaches Association for four years.
Hunter, currently the Director of Techniques Soccer, located in West Bloomfield, said he is ready to establish a solid program at Brandon.
‘I was really impressed with the opportunity, the fields there, and with (BHS Athletic Director) Mr. (Larry) Lamphere and his goals for the program,? Hunter said. ‘We’re planning on making a family move to the area, and I intend to build a program over the course of the next six to eight years and see how far we can take it.?
