ON PROPOSED 2015-2016 BUDGET
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on June 22, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., at 6389 Clarkston Road in Clarkston, Michigan, the Board of Education of Clarkston Community Schools will hold a public hearing to consider the District’s proposed 2015-2016 budget.
The Board may not adopt its proposed 2015-2016 budget until after the public hearing. A copy of the proposed 2015-2016 budget will be available for public inspection during normal business hours beginning Friday, June 19, 2015 at 6389 Clarkston Road in Clarkston, Michigan.
The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.
This notice is given by order of the Board of Education.

The Tuesday, May 8, 2012 Clarkston Community Schools Election will be conducted in all voting precincts of the Charter Township of Independence, for the purpose of voting on the following proposal:
CLARKSTON COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
BONDING PROPOSITION
Shall Clarkston Community Schools, Oakland County, Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed Twenty Million Dollars ($20,000,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds in one or more series therefor, for the purpose of:
remodeling, equipping and re-equipping and furnishing and refurnishing school buildings; acquiring and installing educational technology in school buildings; and developing and improving athletic facilities and sites?
The following is for informational purposes only:
The estimated millage that will be levied for the proposed bonds in 2012 is 1 mill ($1.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation). The maximum number of years the bonds may be outstanding, exclusive of any refunding, is seventeen (17) years. The estimated simple average annual millage anticipated to be required to retire this bond debt is .82 mill ($0.82 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation).
(Pursuant to State law, expenditure of bond proceeds must be audited, and the proceeds cannot be used for repair or maintenance costs, teacher, administrator or employee salaries, or other operating expenses.)

ON NEW DISTRICT POLICY BULLYING AND OTHER AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR TOWARD STUDENTS
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on March 26, 2012, at 7:00 o’clock p.m., at the Clarkston Board of Education Office, 6389 Clarkston Road, Clarkston, Michigan, the Board of Education of Clarkston Community Schools will hold a public hearing to consider new district policy regarding Bullying and Other Aggressive Behavior Toward Students.
This hearing will be an opportunity for the public to review the new policy and provide feedback to the Board of Education. The Board of Education will have a first reading of this policy on March 26, 2012 and subsequent second reading/approval at an upcoming regular meeting of the Board. This policy must be approved prior to June 6, 2012. A copy of this new policy is available on the district website at www.clarkston.k12.mi.us or during normal business hours at 6389 Clarkston Road, Clarkston, Michigan.

Clarkston Community Schools Advanced Studies Program
The Clarkston Community Schools Advanced Studies Program is designed for students who wish to participate in a continuously rigorous, challenging academic program that will lead to an Advanced Studies Program endorsement at the end of the senior year. The program is open to 8th, 9th and 10th grade students and applications may be obtained by calling 623-5413.
To be considered for the program, students must have demonstrated academic ability in the core curriculum by earning at least a 3.0 grade point average in language arts, science, mathematics, social studies and foreign language. (Students may also be required to pass a mathematics examination).
Parents will sign a letter of intent indicating that they understand and accept responsibility for ensuring that their child enrolls in the required classes in the Advanced Studies Program.

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, exempting therefrom principal residence and qualified agricultural property as defined by law, in Clarkston Community Schools, Oakland County, Michigan, be increased by 19.2491 mills ($19.2491 on each $1,000.00 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2006 to 2015, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; if approved, the estimate of the revenue from 18 mills of the above increase the school district will collect the first year of levy, 2006, is approximately $7,600,000 ($18.7491 mills of the above is a renewal of millage which expired with the 2005 tax levy and .5 mill is additional millage to restore millage lost as a result of the reduction required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963)?

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO ESTABLISH A REGULAR ELECTION DATE
Please take notice that pursuant to the provisions of the Consolidated Election Law enacted in December of 2003, the Board of Education of Clarkston Community Schools will conduct a public hearing on the establishment of a new regular election date pursuant to law.
The dates authorized by law for school regular elections are:
(a) The odd year May regular election date.
(b) The general election date in both even and odd years.
(c) The May regular election date in both even and odd years.
The Board has tentatively established the May regular election date in both even and odd years as the regular election date on an annual basis.
The hearing will be held in the cafeteria of North Sashabaw Elementary School in the district at 6:30 o’clock in the evening on October 11, 2004.
If the Board of Education fails to approve the tentative election date or any other date authorized by the law, the regular election will be held at the odd year general election held in November commencing with the election to be held November 8, 2005.
The Board of Education is authorized by law to adopt a resolution setting the regular election date immediately subsequent to the public hearing.
