Clarkston quilter at VOH

‘It’s delightful,? said Charlotte Cooper of Clarkston, describing the Victorian Open House, a special holiday event set for 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Pine Grove, the headquarters of the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society.
Victorian Open House features music, decorations, free cocoa, coffee and cookies, and a gorgeous look into Christmas-past. Centerpiece of the event will be the decorations of Gov. Moses Wisner’s 1850 stately home. Wisner was one of Michigan’s first governors, and his majestic home maintains the flavor of the 1850s. That is enhanced with a variety of holiday decorations.
Volunteers including Cooper spent the last few weeks decorating the estate, which includes the carriage house, now containing the OCPHS museum, the one-room school house, and several other buildings. VOH is designed for kids as well. There will be puppet shows at the school house during the afternoon.
A special attraction will be a raffle for a handmade quilt. Tickets are $5 for the raffle.
Admission to VOH is $5, or $10 for a family of five. Pine Grove is located at 405 Cesar E. Chavez Ave. in Pontiac.
