After the 2016 Winterfest Carnival and several successful pancake breakfasts, the Lake Orion Lion’s Club and the Lake Orion United Methodist Church decided to partner again for another tasty fundraiser.?
This Saturday, starting at?6 p.m., both organizations are hosting a Taste of the Town at the Kings Court Castle within Canterbury Village.?
Several local restaurants will be featuring myriads of samples with hopes of raising funds for local, charitable programs.?
‘A long time ago the Boys and Girls club used to do the same thing, and they raised a lot of money. We’re just trying to revive that because we know it was a great fundraiser,? Lion Bob Erickson said.?
Erickson is also a member of the United Methodist Church.?
‘We are just trying to reach out to more people in the community, just to make them aware that there is a community here that cares about you. If you need some help, come on over and we can find a way to make life better.??
The Taste of the Town will feature food from Achatz Handmade Pies, Big Wave Sushi, Casa Real, Buffalo Wild Wings, 51 North Brewery, 5-1 Diner, Forest Mexican Cantina, Italia Gardens, Lockhart’s BBQ, Sullivan’s, Valentino’s, Culver’s, and DK Donuts.?
Tickets are $40 per adult, or $75 per couple.?
Proceeds will support community programs offered by both the Lions Club and United Methodist Church, including community meals, addiction support, special needs dances, hearing aid distribution, the Christmas Basket Program, and much more.?
