Brandon golfers fall short of finishing in upper half at league meet

In the first Flint Metro League tournament of the season, Brandon’s girls golf team made a bid to finish in the upper half of the pack.
However, the Blackhawks came up just a few strokes shy of that goal April 20 at Sugarbush Golf Course. Brandon finished in fourth place at the meet with a score of 449, five strokes behind third-place Fenton, which finished at 444.
Linden won the meet with a score of 382, well ahead of second-place Oxford (418).
Two Brandon golfers, Laura Kwiatkowski and Becca Scherer, finished among the top ten golfers at the tournament. Kwiatkowski finished second with an 84, four shots behind first-place finisher Missy Ward of Linden, while Scherer finished eighth with a 105.
Tiffany Harding (125) and Casey Nesterowich (135) rounded out Brandon’s scoring.
