Police are awaiting blood test results from a 41-year-old Brandon Township man who threatened to kill deputies this week.

According to an Oakland County Sheriff’s Office major incident report, corrections deputies were leaving the Oakland County Jail in Pontiac at the end of their shift shortly after 11 a.m., June 21when they witnessed the man drive his vehicle into the jail loading dock gate located off the north employee parking lot.

The man then exited his vehicle and began yelling that he was going to kill them. The suspect then got back into his vehicle and fled the parking lot, followed by an off-duty deputy and the OCSO dispatch center was notified, as well as the Waterford Police, who located the suspect leaving the Kia of Waterford automobile dealership on Elizabeth Lake Road.

The suspect was stopped by Waterford officers as he drove in the direction of the jail on N. Telegraph Road, taken into custody, and turned over to deputies from the OCSO Pontiac substation who obtained a search warrant for a blood draw as the man appeared to be driving under the influence of drugs.

During a search of the man’s vehicle, several prescription pill bottles were located, along with a butterfly knife and a throwing star commonly used in martial arts.

The man was released pending blood test results. The Special Investigations Unit is handling the case.
