Crime Watch June 13, 2020

Harassing
communications
At 1:59 p.m., May 27, Brandon deputies responded to the 1000 block of Wooley for a report of harassing communications. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a woman who stated she and her husband had been having problems. She said she moved into her mother’s house two weeks prior and filed for divorce. She stated that last week her husband called her and said he was going to come over to their house and kill her, and made threats to her family as well. She said she had left for a while and that she returned and called her husband back. He told her that he never came over and was just mad at her. She said she was afraid of what he might do in the future and wanted something on record.
Domestic assault
At 4:20 p.m., May 27, Brandon deputies responded to a report of domestic assault. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the caller. She stated her ex-husband had hit her with the car door. She said they were arguing about their child, who had been sick and she had not taken him to a doctor. She said when she was saying goodbye, the vehicle door hit her leg. Her ex-husband said he thought the car was in park and did not mean to hit her. She stated he told her she needed to move or he was going to hit her. Deputies were able to speak with the ex-husband, who said he was picking up his kids and that he gave his wife a money order for watching the kids. He said she was upset that she didn’t give her cash, and they continued to argue. He said she came to say goodbye to her son and he took his foot off of the brake and the vehicle rolled back a bit. He said he immediately put his foot on the brake. The case was forwarded to the detective bureau.

Domestic assault
At 7:26 p.m., June 1, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival, deputies met with the caller, who stated her daughter was out of control and tearing up the house. Deputies spoke with the daughter, who was visibly agitated and ranting about Catholicism and how her father was evil. While waiting, she spit on the floor and wall, even after being instructed not to. Deputies spoke with the caller and her husband, who said their daughter had left that day for about 5 hours and returned irritable and argumentative over where she was. They said she was throwing things around the house and at them. The daughter was arrested for domestic assault and transported to Oakland County Jail.
No rides
At 12:33 p.m., June 2, Brandon deputies responded to the 2000 block of Reese Road for a report of suspicious circumstances. The caller reported that she was walking with her child and a passerby in a white sports car with tinted windows passed her and the driver revved the engine. She stated the driver turned around and got out of his car and approached them, asking if they liked his car and offered her child a ride. She said the driver got back in his car and drove away and described the encounter as non-confrontational, but suspicious.
Death
At 10:04 p.m., June 2, Brandon deputies responded to a report of a death. As Brandon Fire and deputies arrived, they were met with the caller who stated her husband was dead inside his car. Deputies and fire personnel entered the garage and found the victim to be still, cold, and not breathing. All doors and windows were closed to the garage and there was a strong odor of exhaust fumes. Brandon Fire ran a CO test on the air, which came back at 500 with the garage door open. Deputies spoke with the wife, who stated her husband was working in the garage on his vehicle at 7 p.m., and that the car had been having problems keeping the battery charge. When he hasn’t returned to the house by 10 p.m., she went to check on him and found him deceased. She said he was happy and had not been talking about suicide.
