Groveland Ortonville Brandon gymnastics team made a strong showing in their most recent competition in Vassar. Gymnasts ranged in age from 6-years-old through high school in the Michigan Recreational Gymnastic League Trophy Challenge. The League is a feeder system for high school leagues. When gymnasts reach high school, they must join their school team. GOB took second place in the competition.
Megan Wertheimer won first place in All-Around in the 13-year-old age group. Twin sisters, Colleen and Jill Brendel, competed against each other in the 14-and-up age group. Colleen took first place in All-Around, with Jill close behind in second place.
