Goodrich Girls XC win Region 16-2 championship

Waterford Twp. —On Oct. 29, the Goodrich Varsity Girls Cross Country team won the Region 16-2 at Hess Hathaway Park, Waterford Township. “Our girls were once again up to the task,” said Al Warden, Martian head coach. “All excellent athletes with a desire to be their best every day. They now have 11 wins in 12 competitions with remarkable results. They continued to rise to the occasion and win with a score of 26 for Goodrich and 83 points for the second place team. Goodrich placed all 7 runners in the top 21 in a field of 84 girls, 4 in the top 7 and five in the top 11. The 1 to 5 spread (Goodrich runner 1 to Goodrich runner 5) was an amazing 1 minute 24 seconds.”
First for Goodrich and 1st in the race was sophomore Kamryn Lauinger (19:43) winning her 8th race of season: second for Goodrich and 3rd overall Soph. Layla Jordan 20:12; third for Goodrich and 6th overall was Soph. Avery Byrne, 20:21, fourth for Goodrich and 7th overall was Jr. Alexis Waring, 20:37
The Goodrich Boys finished eighth. First for Goodrich and 19th overall Fr. Vincent Pattison 17:45; second for Goodrich and 31st overall Soph. Cole Winter 18:44, third for Goodrich and 46th overall Brody Orcutt 19:34
