Jenniches to step down

Brandon Schools? Brandon School District Superintendent Bart Jenniches says the 2004-05 school year will be his last.
‘I want to give the board of education ample time to find a replacement,? said Jenniches before making the announcement at the June 14 school board meeting.
‘After nine years now it’s time for me to move on. I can only hope that I made Brandon Schools better’my focus has been and will continue to be on high academic standards.?
Jenniches came to the school district in 1996 following the retirement of Brandon Superintendent Joy Holler. Prior to the Brandon District, Jenniches served as assistant superintendent for instructional services in the Saginaw Intermediate School District. He was also Superintendent of Schools for Birch Run Area Schools, Superintendent at Camden-Frontier Schools, Sparta Area Schools middle school principal and elementary school principal at Tri-County Area Schools after beginning his career as a sixth grade teacher at Ypsilanti Public Schools.

During his tenure as superintendent Jenniches says he’s most proud of the enhancement of the course offerings, establishing pride in the school district and facility upgrades throughout the district.
‘I’ve been very fortunate over the past years to work with some outstanding school boards’including the current members’they are very competent in their roles.?
Brandon School Board President Beth Nuccio said plans to replace Jenniches will start in July.
‘After the July 12 board organizational meeting we’ll interview some of the search firms that find superintendents,? said Nuccio.
‘We appreciate the time Bart spent here and we wish him the best of luck in the future. While we still have a year to go, the process of finding a new superintendent is important to the district and the board.?
Nuccio added that all applicants will be considered including individuals currently working in the district.
