Marysville— A four run fourth inning and shutout pitching by Richmond Blue Devils 25-8-1 pitcher Senior Katie Shuboy who fanned 11 ended the season for the Lady Martians on June 10 in the Division 2 state quarterfinal at Skippers Softball Field, Marysville 6-0.
Fr. Anna Light, Jr. Olivia Bartlett and So. Julia Keller were the only hitters in the game. Senior Jayden Gohs pitched five innings, struck out seven and walked three in the loss. The Lady Martins finish the 2025 season with a 29-10-1 record, as Regional and District championships.
The Martians punched their ticket to the quarterfinals on June 7, the they edged out a victory topping the Frankenmuth Eagles 2-1 for the regional title. The win was the first in the past three games with the Eagles.
GHS Julia Keller was 3-for-4 and Abby Stefanski went 1-for-4 with a home run. Senior Jayden Gohs got it done on the mound by striking out 14 batters over nine innings with no walks and then went 2-for-4 at the plate which included a home run.
The Lady Martians stranded nine runners while the Eagles left three on base.
