Dog safety
Dear Editor
We have been fortunate enough to hike trails in Canada, Maine, Virginia, and throughout both upper and lower Michigan. We have never been threatened by any animals on these hikes.
However, many times on our walks within the village of Ortonville, we have been harassed by loose dogs. A few times, our leashed dog has been bitten by one of these dogs. The most recent instance resulted in a trip to the vet to treat an abscess of a bite wound.
What if dog had bitten a child? Please do not allow dogs to run loose for everyone’s safety.
Kim and Don Noble, Ortonville
