Limited flu vaccine available for residents

Brandon Twp.-After canceling flu shots at all outreach health clinics across Oakland county, George Miller, manager for the Oakland County Health division said Thursday some shots will be available for county residents.
‘A limited supply of flu shots will be available,? said Miller. ‘We’ll pass (flu shots) out until they’re gone,? said Miller.
On Oct. 6, the Brandon Senior Center was among several county wide that were notified flu shots were canceled due to manufacturing difficulty in Europe. Since then, the Oakland County Health Division has received a limited number of vaccinations, says Miller.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at Summit Place Mall, located near Telegraph and Elizabeth Lake roads in Waterford Township, flu shots will be available.
‘Those requesting a flu shot must be a resident of Oakland County and come prepared to wait. There’s no reason to panic,? Miller said. ‘Expect 5 to 6,000 at the Oct. 23 clinic.?
