Michael Palmiter

PALMITER, MICHAEL BLAINE, age 11, of Ortonville, passed away with his family by his side on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Michael was born on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2013, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, son to Nathan and Marcy Palmiter (nee: Gardebrecht). Dear brother of Anna Palmiter, Allan (Meagan Standley) Palmiter, and Stephen Palmiter. Cherished grandson of Al and Mary Gardebrecht, John and Brenda Palmiter. Michael is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Michael attended Lakeville Elementary School in Oxford where he enjoyed participating in the fifth-grade safety patrol program. In his spare time, he enjoyed video games, especially Fortnite, and was an avid Lego creator. Michael enjoyed little league Baseball, camping, and VBS during the summer time, and was a very competitive Uno player. Michael also enjoyed attending his siblings’ sporting events and often served as “ball boy” at their soccer games. He was a very positive person, who went out of his way to make new friends.
A very special thank-you to the Doctors and Staff at Royal Oak Beaumont, Corewell Health for their care and dedication. The family received friends on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 4-8 PM and on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 3-8 PM at the Village Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Ortonville. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, 11:00 AM, with an instate time of 10:00 AM at St. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7925 Sashabaw Road, Clarkston. Pastor Matt Schuler, officiating. Burial will follow at Seymour Lake Cemetery. Memorial donations in Michael’s name may be made to the Rainbow Connection or the Bottomless Toy Chest.
