Groveland Twp.- The post commander at the Metro North State Police Post in Oak Park will also command the township team after Michigan State Police announced last week that 112 employees statewide will have different job responsibilities or assignments in the wake of a $13.6 million deficit for fiscal year 2007.
First Lt. Roderick Williams, the current commander at the Metro North Post, 14350 Ten Mile Road, will also serve as leader for the township team starting April 9, said Shanon Akans, Michigan State Police public affairs spokesperson. It was not disclosed where the Groveland Team commander, First Lt. Garold Parsons, will be relocated.
‘It’s up to the commander to see how they will divide up their time between the areas,? said Akans.
The Metro North Post currently has 38 troopers, while nine are assigned to the Groveland Team.
