No long thoughts

At this writing Hillary Rodham Clinton’s book is five days from being released. And, the only thing being quoted, and apparently the only thing people are interested in, is how she handled husband Bill’s tryst with Monica.
She cried, she yelled, concluded she loved him and ran for public office in another state.
Did you hear her statement, ‘He came to my bed to tell me about the affair??
Hmmm! HER bed!?
A few months ago the BIG EYE in the Porcupine Press in the UP had this to say about Ms. Clinton.
‘Hillary Rodman Clinton now comes under this fancy ‘Congressional Retirement and Staffing Plan,? which means that even if she never gets re-elected, she STILL receives her congressional salary until she dies.
‘If Bill outlives her, he then inherits HER salary until he dies. He is already getting his Presidential salary until he dies. If Hillary outlives Bill, she also gets HIS salary until she dies. Guess who pays for that? WE DO!
‘It’s common knowledge that in order for her to establish NY residency, they purchased a million dollar-plus house in upscale Chappaqua, New York. Makes sense. They are entitled to secret Service protection for life. Still makes sense.
‘Here is where it becomes interesting. Their mortgage payments hover around $10,000 a month. BUT, an extra residence HAD to be built within the acreage to house the secret Service agents. The Clintons charge the Federal government $10,000 monthly for the use of that extra residence, which is just about equal to their mortgage payment. This means that we taxpayers are paying the Clintons? salaries, mortgage, transportation, safety and security, as well as the salaries for their 12 man staff – and, this is all perfectly legal.
‘When she runs for President, will you vote for her??

In a related matter, let’s talk about earwigs. Just kidding!
We all know people who openly express their hate of earwigs. To those people I report the following: Earwigs have been crawling about the Earth for about 208 million years. Only people who submit stuff to The Old Farmer’s Almanac know such things.
We’re seeing so many more of them today because, according to MSU entomologist Tom Ellis, ‘Our backyards are ecosystems, and we’ve altered them by adding decks and mulched beds full of organic matter. These environments are tailor-made for earwigs, so it stands to reason we see more.?
Kinda? make you want to de-mulch and burn the deck.

The Almanac also claims earwigs don’t lay eggs in people’s brains. Oh, well, Almanac contributors can’t get all their facts straight.

June 5 and the daily sports editors are filling their pages with Detroit Lions stuff. But, you know what? As cold as the weather has been the past few weeks football sounds in season.
