School supplies needed for OCEF

It’s still summer vacation but it’s not too early to at least think about back to school. The Ortonville Community Emergency Fund has kicked off their IMG_1507annual school supplies drive for the Brandon School District.
“We are helping over 200 kids, and we’re really shy,” said St. Anne’s Christian Service Coordinator Karyn Milligan. “We need more donations to serve these families.”
Every year, OCEF reaches out to the Brandon teachers and get their school supply lists so they can get word out to the community.

“It’s a community thing, it’s not a St. Anne’s thing,” said Trudy [NAME], who is working on this project. “It’s for the Brandon School district.”
They will also accept gift card donations from Payless shoes and any local barber shops and hair salons.
Donations can be dropped off at St. Anne’s Church or the OCEF Pantry, Bueche’s Food World, The Citizen newspaper and the Brandon Township Public Library. Call Karyn Milligan with any questions at 248-627-3965 ext. 103. Donations will be distributed the week of Aug. 26, so it is asked that donations are in before then.
