Thank a Brandon Teacher by Dr. Matt Outlaw

Dear Ortonville-Brandon Community,
Over the course of my six years as superintendent in Brandon, I have had the honor and privilege of seeing firsthand the powerful impact that Brandon teachers and support staff are having on the youth of this community. Having worked in a few other districts, I can tell you that Brandon is truly blessed with some of the most caring and kid-centered employees that I have ever worked with. These are a few of the many things that I appreciate about Brandon teachers and support staff:
1) Brandon teachers lead with their hearts.2) Brandon teachers go above-and-beyond for their students every day. 3) Brandon teachers believe in the potential of all of their students. 4) Brandon teachers care about much more than reading, writing and math. 5) Brandon teachers understand the powerful, positive impact that they can make on the youth of this community.
While May is the official teacher appreciation month, I would love to invite you all to thank a teacher that made a difference in your lives today. This may be a teacher, a coach, a mentor or someone else that went above-and-beyond for you. I would encourage you to send them a note, give them a call or simply send along positive thoughts to those you have lost connection with. These teachers chose a path of service and we are all better people because they did.
If you would like, the district would be happy to help relay messages to current or past Brandon staff members from the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ThankaBrandonTeacher
Thank you to Pat Niergarth, Milly Quinn, Mike Messmore, Dan Christner, Coach Ritzema, my parents, and all of the other teachers that positively impacted my life.
Go Blackhawks!!!
Matthew S. Outlaw, Superintendent for the Brandon School District
