Atlas Twp.-By a 5-0 vote on Monday night the township board of trustees moved forward with an application to fund preventative maintenance construction procedures to Burpee Road Bridge over the Thread Creek and Green Road Bridge over the Kearsley Creek. The meeting was posted and conducted via conference call.
The proposed scope of work includes overlaying the bridge deck with waterproof epoxy finish along with other procedures.
The total cost of the project is $34,100 of which the township will spend $2,325. The Bay Region Local Bridge fund program will cover 95 percent of the costs, while the Genesee County Road Commission will pay $2,325.
“This is a really good deal for the township,” said Tere Onica, township supervisor. “Even with our budget cuts this is worth approval.”
The project requires selection by the Bay Region Local Bridge program and would be for the 2023 project year.
