Your Partners in Pediatrics

Take more than 40 years of combined medical experience, throw in a love of children, add a dash of personal care — and you have a recipe for the new pediatrician in town.
Your Partners in Pediatrics has been serving the Waterford community with this special mixture of care and compassion for over 50 years. Now Dr. Jose Neri and Dr. Devyani Khambete are bringing their talents and care for children to the Oxford area.
‘We saw a need for pediatrics in this area. It’s a growing community and there are really no pediatricians north of Lake Orion,? said Dr. Khambete. ‘We thought it would be great to open a second practice and serve the community’s pediatric needs.?
Your Partners in Pediatrics began with doctors Robert James, M.D. and David H. Dinger, M.D. in Waterford more than 50 years ago. The goal for the practice has always been simple: to provide consistent, high quality healthcare with integrity and compassion.
‘We have very personal care for each patient and their families,? said Dr. Khambete. ‘We really get to know all of our patients, and not just their health, but everything about them and their lives.?
‘We want the community to understand that we are here to take care of the kids,? added Dr. Neri. ‘Their well-being is most important.?
Dr. Neri has been practicing medicine since 1970. He received his medical degree from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. He received his Michigan license in 1985 after completing a pediatric residency in what are now St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and North Oakland Medical Center.
Dr. Neri is a member of the American Medical Association, Michigan State Medical Society, Oakland County Medical Society.
Dr. Khambete began practicing medicine in 1995 after completing a two year residency at Henry Ford Hospital. She received her medical degree in 1993 from the Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital in Bombay, India.
Dr. Khambete is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association and the Michigan State Medical Society. She was ranked first in surgery and second in internal medicine in her 200-member graduating class; and second overall.
Both doctors are affiliated with Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, North Oakland Medical Center and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
Your Partners in Pediatrics is well known as a ‘family? practice. Long-time staff members and second generation patients mean familiar faces every time a child walks through the door. In fact, over 200 Oxford patients currently travel to Waterford for pediatric care.
‘We even have patients that drive down from Flint,? commented Dr. Neri.
Added to the personal touch is the two doctors dedication. Your Partners in Pediatrics provides 24-hour physician on-call paging, so that a child is never left in need of personal medical attention.
‘We do not have an answering service,? said Dr. Neri. ‘You are directly in touch with your pediatrician.?
And for those with immediate medical needs, Dr. Neri is also on staff at the Crittenton Pediatric Urgent Care. He added that patients can come there for treatment, and that way find some added consistency in their treatment.
Families are encouraged to stop in any time during office hours to meet the doctors and visit the practice.
