Townships may get more state funds

Pending Senate approval, two local townships may see an increase in state revenue sharing dollars.
Atlas Township is one of three townships in Genesee County which may see a 3.9 percent increase, said Rep. Dave Robertson, R-Grand Blanc Twp., in a media statement released June 15.
Groveland Township is one of three Oakland County townships slated for a 1.5 to 3.9 percent increase in revenue sharing if the bill is approved, said Rep. Jim Marleau, R-Lake Orion, in a similar statement.
Both Robertson and Marleau voted to approve the bill, which is touted as a budget plan which will ‘not raise taxes, increases funding for K-12 education, and protects essential services for seniors, children, and those with disabilities.?
