The way to grow

Brandon Twp.- For the past 25 years Horton-Renn Insurance Agency, 1839 S. Ortonville Road has offered clients exceptional service.
The same commitment to customers will continue but in a new upgraded facility.
Company owner Walt Renn says the original 750 square-foot brick office building purchased in 1982 was just too small for the three agents and two staff so construction on an addition started in June. When completed in December a total of 2,800 square feet on the lower level and 1,600 square feet on the upper level will be added.
‘We needed more room,? said Renn. ‘Business has been good. We provide customers with excellent service, although occasionally customers leave for price’they come back. It may be due to communication with other insurance companies or service, either way they come back.?
The plans include renting some of the office space to other businesses.
Renn said that business expansion was first considered in 1999 but the project was delayed due to the possible widening of M-15, which could possibly encroach on the building. The Michigan Department of Transportation has since dashed such plans and the project moved forward this year.
Renn is a member and past president of the Ortonville Area Chamber of Commerce and a past member of the former Brandon Fire Board for nine and a half years.
Horton-Renn is an independent agency’this means they can select the best coverage for their client, rather than having the option of only one company.
Horton-Renn offers home, auto, life, health, business, and specialty line coverages.
