5 o’clock rush hour jammed up by collision

Rush hour drivers anxious for the weekend to begin were held up on Friday by a rear-end collision at the intersection of Drahner Rd. and M-24 involving two Metamora men.
According to the accident report by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, Mark Caven, 39, was driving his gray Ford F-250 northbound on M-24 when the congested traffic suddenly stopped.
The report then states that Warren Short, 46, was traveling behind Caven in his minivan, was ‘not paying attention? and struck the pickup in the rear. Mr. Short’s air bag was deployed during the accident.
The Oxford Fire Department and Medical were called to the scene. Oxford Medical treated and released Mr. Short at the scene.
Deputies on the scene wrote in the report that Short was unable to stop in assured clear distance. No citations were issued.
