The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of vandalism at Carpenter Elementary School on Flintridge Street on April 20.
According to an OCSD report, an air conditioning unit, valued at $20,000, was damaged by vandals. A custodian at the school found the unit’s fins had been damaged.
A deputy observed the damage and said it appeared an object was used to crush the fins of the housing unit. There were dents and gouge marks and carvings, with various phrases and drawings. Footprints were also observed.
