Oxford man charged with 2nd-degree home invasion

An 18-year-old Oxford man was arraigned Friday on one count of second-degree home invasion in the Rochester Hills 52-3 District Court.
Chadwick Adam Cartner stood mute before Judge Nancy Carniak. He’s currently being held in the Oakland County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
Cartner stands accused of the May 11 burglary of 986 Gill St. in the Clear Lake subdivision.
A Canon Camcorder, a plastic piggy bank nearly full of money, and two canning jars containing coins and cash were stolen from the home that day, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report.
Sheriff’s Detective Ken Alderman said Cartner returned the stolen camcorder to him. The other items have not been recovered.
If convicted of second-degree home invasion, Cartner faces up to 15 years in prison. Cartner’s preliminary examination is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. June 9.
Four other burglaries took place in the Clear Lake subdivision during the month of May. One of the three houses burglarized was hit twice.
All of the burglaries took place on Keith, Gill and Lakesview streets.
Alderman said the other burglaries are still under investigation.
