Parks millage coming in November election

Voters will have until Nov. 2 to decide how they want to cast their vote on a proposed millage for the Orion Township Parks and Recreation Department.
Proposal P, appearing on the General Election ballot, will ask voters to approve a millage to dedicate funds for developing, constructing, equipping, improving, maintaining and operating recreation facilities and programs for the next five years in the township.
Included would be construction of additional restrooms, multipurpose athletic field(s), basketball court(s)/ice skating rink, amphitheater and skate park operation.
The cost would be 31 cents per day ($112.50 annually) for a home with a $300,000 market value, and may be tax-deductible from federal income taxes.
