The season’s dual meets now over with, the Lake Orion High School girls swimming and diving team will look towards the OAA II League Meet, beginning on Nov. 3.
The Dragons placed fourth overall in the recent Saginaw Heritage Relays, which coach Darin Abbasse said were a nice change of pace for his team.
‘Our goal was to finish in the top two,? he said.
‘It was a very competitive meet from first through fourth place. It’s all relays, so it’s a nice break for us.?
Right now, Abbasse said his team is ‘right in the mix? of the battle for Division II.
‘We’re 2-2 overall,? he said prior to the team’s meets against Farmington (Oct. 21) and Stoney Creek (Oct. 26). ‘We have two more wins than we had last year.?
Abbasse believesithe team could tie for second place overall, against Farmington, who they did not swim against last year.
Against the Farmington Falcons, the Dragons fell 104-82.
‘With Farmington, we have a good shot at being co-champs overall in the league,? Abbasse said.
Lake Orion travels to the League Meet on Nov. 3-5, and hosts the MHSAA Diving Regionals on Nov. 16 at 5 p.m.
The MHSAA State Meet is scheduled to end the season on Nov. 19.
