On Nov. 18, Oxford High School Senior Jessica Anhel signed a National Letter of Intent for a softball scholarship at Saginaw Valley State University.
SVSU softball coach Sabrina Lane announced the signing of Anhel, along with two other high school athletes, all of whom will play for the Cardinals beginning with the 2006 season.
Anhel will primarily play catcher, but can also play several infield positions. She’s been Oxford’s starting catcher since her freshman year.
‘All three young women are tremendously talented and are big-time athletes,? Lane said. ‘We are looking forward to having them join our program after they complete their high school careers.
‘We expect Jessica . . . to play a major role in the future success of our program,? she noted.
