Entrepreneurs and caregivers hoping to open a medical marijuana dispensary in Oxford Twp. will have to wait a while longer while the government continues to develop an ordinance to regulate them.
Township officials recently voted 7-0 to extend the moratorium ‘on all applications which concern the development of a medical marijuana facility? for 180 days or a period that’s ‘shorter or longer? as determined by the township board.
Officials extended the moratorium because the planning commission isn’t finished drafting an ordinance to regulate medical marijuana facilities and the 120-day moratorium the township originally placed on them July 14 was due to expire.
